The piece “Shuckling” is a self-portrait referring to an old phrase used by blues musicians referring to shuffling along in melancholy mood. The piece “Drafted” is a friend of Janis that has been drafted and is to report for the Army on February 3rd circa 1965. The larger canvas paintings are very classic in nature.
All works are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Joplin Estate.
